A fund for reading
I want the fund to help pay for books and reading programs. Community voting on spending is planned for later; the voting rules and software still need to be built.
About the project
I started Slithy to help more kids read. The idea is to take part of the reward from mining and put it into a fund for books and reading programs.

You can mine with your computer's CPU. You don't need to buy a specialized mining machine to try Slithy.
Ten percent of the new coins in each block go to the literacy treasury. You can check its balance and transactions on the public chain.
Slithy Tove comes from the “slithy toves” in Lewis Carroll's poem Jabberwocky. I wanted the name to have a connection to books from the start.
CS Idea Labs LLC publishes Slithy and runs this website and the official nodes. It is not a foundation or a nonprofit.
Slithy is still on a test network. The current wallets and chain will reset before the live launch, including the balances shown in the treasury feed. Test SLTHY has no market value.
The literacy treasury is a project fund for books and reading programs. I plan to publish records of each payment. This website does not sell coins, ask you to invest, or run a fundraising campaign. Nothing here is investment advice or a promise that SLTHY will gain value or be listed on an exchange. The treasury page explains who will control the wallet and the plans for community voting.
